The bridge was originally installed in 1997 further changes were made as the site developed, however following significant damage to the bridge in 2003, work commenced to return the bridge to operational requirements.
The initial work included a detailed appraisal followed by a specification of the work required , which included, electrical continuity checks, hydraulic power unit maintenance supervision, lightening protection & control software changes, followed by bridge control commissioning both in automatic and manual functions.
